Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hoi An / Da Nang – Marble Mountain – Hai Van Pass – Elephant Springs – Hue
- 08:30 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang. Visit Marble Mountain to explore cave shrines and temples.
- Cruise along My Khe Beach coastal road before embarking on the winding climb up Hai Van Pass.
- Midday: Enjoy lunch, then ride over Phu Gia Pass to Elephant Springs for a refreshing swim in natural mountain pools.
- Afternoon: Depending on weather conditions, visit An Bang Beach (“City of Tombs”) or Tam Giang Lagoon fishing village.
- 04:30 PM: Arrive in Hue, check in to your hotel, and enjoy a free evening exploring the Imperial Capital.
Day 2: Hue – Quang Tri Battlefield – DMZ – Vinh Moc Tunnels – Khe Sanh
- Morning: Depart Hue along Highway 1A toward Quang Tri. Visit the historic “Highway of Horror (1972)”, Long Hung Church, and Quang Tri Old Citadel.
- Stop at Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River on the 17th Parallel, the landmark dividing North and South Vietnam during the war.
- Midday: Visit Doc Mieu Fire Base, followed by lunch and relaxation at Cua Tung Queen Beach.
- Afternoon: Explore the subterranean labyrinth of Vinh Moc Tunnels. Pay respects at Truong Son National Cemetery before riding west to Khe Sanh for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Khe Sanh Combat Base – West Ho Chi Minh Trail – Minority Villages – Phong Nha
- Morning: Visit the historic Khe Sanh Combat Base (Ta Con Airfield), a critical military site during the Vietnam War.
- Embark on the spectacular West Ho Chi Minh Trail, surrounded by mountain peaks, jungle canopy, and scenic waterfalls.
- Midday & Afternoon: Visit remote hill tribe villages of the Pa Co and Van Kieu minority peoples to learn about their authentic daily customs.
- Arrive in Phong Nha by late afternoon and check in to your hotel.
Day 4: Phong Nha Caves – Kilometer 0 West Ho Chi Minh Trail – Dong Hoi Drop-off
- Morning: Choose between visiting Paradise Cave (Asia’s longest dry cave) or Dark Cave (featuring ziplining and mud baths).
- Midday: Enjoy a local lunch in Phong Nha village.
- Afternoon: Ride to Kilometer 0 on the West Ho Chi Minh Trail.
- Finish the tour with drop-off at your hotel in Phong Nha or transfer to Dong Hoi (train station, bus station, or airport) for your onward journey north.
