Itinerary
Pickup at Chan May Port: At the scheduled time, our guide and driver will meet you at Chan May port
Transfer to Hue: We begin the 60–70 km drive to Hue, which takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Enjoy views of Central Vietnam’s countryside, coastal lagoons, fishing villages, and rice fields along the way, with short photo stops available time-permitting.
- Tu Duc Tomb: Our first historical stop is the tranquil Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc. Spanning nearly 12 hectares with around 50 structures—including pine forests, pavilions, and lakes—this complex served as a peaceful retreat for the Emperior during his reign.
- Thien Mu Pagoda & River Cruise: Next, enjoy a scenic dragon boat trip along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda (Linh Mu Pagoda), an iconic 400-year-old religious landmark featuring the seven-story Phuoc Duyen Tower. Behind the main sanctuary, view the historic Austin car driven by the Most Venerable Thich Quang Duc in 1963.
- Local Lunch & Herbal Foot Bath: Stop at a traditional local home to sample authentic Hue cuisine. Following lunch, unwind with a relaxing herbal foot bath prepared with fresh local herbs (lemon, lemongrass, wild betel leaves) and essential oils to refresh your feet after walking.
- Hue Citadel: The final stop is the vast 500-hectare Citadel complex, capital of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. Explore key landmarks on foot, including Ngo Mon Gate (Noon Gate), Thai Hoa Palace, Kien Trung palace and the Royal Theater, while learning about Vietnam’s imperial history.
Return Transfer: After exploring the Citadel, our driver will transfer you back to Chan May Port (without guide) in time for your cruise departure.
